Use a Good Sun Block

One thing about living in higher elevations is that you need to use a good sun block with really high SPF protection.
As I have once lived at high elevations, I used it anyhow and it worked well.
I lived up in Las Vegas, New Mexico for a short time but up there you need a good sun protection even for the winter time.
