Luck of the Irish

However, I'm not so lucky when it comes to skin protection, and thus this has made me very shy of being outdoors for very long.

I have found when I know I'm going to be outside steadily for more than a few minutes that I always cover myself in a high SPF sunscreen.

I also still wear long sleeves even during the summer months to avoid skin damage, and when outside gardening I also will wear a very wide-brimmed hat.

While I'm not making any fashion statements here, skin cancer runs rampant in my family and I really don't want to take any chances at all.

I have only had a slight tan twice in my life which was not intentional, but rather from poor quality sunscreen lotion that sweat and washed off me while I was gardening.
