Little Sister's Birthday

I remember when my little sister had her fourth birthday party. Her birthday's in July, so it was a hot summer day and evening.
I always envied her parties because they could be held outside and therefore were more fun, had more activities and had many more guests than mine (Halloween baby).
She had a piñata, a magician, a clown, and various contests. Examples would be hot dog eating, water balloon tossing, potato sack racing, dance contests, you get the picture.
You also cannot forget about musical chairs and bobbing for apples. I think everyone had the most fun with the hula hoop contests though.
My parents even had a custom laminated sign made for her. It was quite expensive.
This was back in the day when most home office printers were of the dot matrix kind, if there was even a computer or printer in the house.
The funny thing was that they spelled her name wrong on the sign and it was too late to have another made.
So out came the construction paper, tape and markers. We even made a "game" out of this and had everyone design new signs for my sister.
They may not have been laminated, or one piece of paper, but at least they spelled her name right.
I forgot who won, but they got an extra goodie bag of candy though.
