Hooked on Board Shorts

The first time I ever went surfing, I was the only girl in a group of about eight guys. I was determined to prove myself in the best way possible!
I had to make sure that I was not only mentally prepared, but also physically. I also had to make sure that I had all of the right gear.
My equipment was all in check, except that there was just one problem: What to wear!
I called my friend Jordan in a panic. “Do you have an extra wetsuit?” He tried to stifle his laughter. He told me that a swimsuit and a pair of board shorts would be all that I need for our adventure out to the beach.
Later that morning, I headed out to the row of surf shops near the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Sure enough, there were board shorts everywhere!
I could hardly decide which color or pattern to get. They were not only functional, but also stylish enough to wear with flip flops and a tank top.
Not only that, but I realized how much more modest
board shorts are when you are out on the water especially in front of a group of guys! The last thing I would want to happen is to end up with my bikini bottoms as fish food out at sea.
After perusing the selection, I found two perfect pairs of board shorts: one aqua pair with a Velcro fastened fly, and one longer plaid pair with a great tie-waist. That was two years ago, and I still wear them all the time!
