Cheap Prescription Sunglasses
A Warning

There are dozens of commercials these days advertising cheap prescription sunglasses. Frustrated as I am by the rising costs of sunglasses, and prescription sunglasses in particular, I decided to find out more about them.
I have to use a strong lens in one eye to correct my vision, so each pair of glasses I wear cost more as the lenses are different.
When I saw a commercial offering not only two pairs for the price of one, but both for less than $40, I couldn’t say no. How I wish I had now!
The first clue that I had that something was wrong was when the sunglasses took over a month to be delivered, even though the payment had been taken almost instantaneously.
The cheap prescription sunglasses that I had ordered looked to be ok, but upon trying them on, one pair had not been made to my order, and I couldn’t see out of one side.
I called the company, who said that their sales rep had taken down the order precisely, and that the fault must have been with me.
I argued for over an hour on the phone, but the cheap prescription sunglasses company refused to budge. Fortunately I had the second pair.
Frustratingly, but not altogether surprisingly, the second pair had suffered some sort of damage in the mail, and within in a week one of the lenses fell out, shattering on the floor.
Again, I called the company, and again I was told that I was outside of the 28 day guarantee, and they wouldn’t accept responsibility for the glasses being delivered late.
I guess my warning to you all is not to believe offers that seem too good to be true. All that glitters isn’t gold!
