Beach Nightmare

A few years ago I lived in New York and would frequently go to the beach on the weekend to relax.
Of course that meant that even with the
best sunscreen I am so light I still would burn so a friend suggested one of those beach umbrellas.
I of course said sure I would give it a shot if it would help. Little did I know how awkward it would be to set up and how bulky it is to travel with.
I don't know why I imagined this tiny thing that I could stick in the ground but I got a big monstrous thing from my friend.
I did try to use it but only to find that I dropped it many times on the way to the spot on the beach I liked.
Also I think I bonked a few people on the head as I passed them without meaning to. Least to say I got a few rude comments thrown my way and I never want to experience that again.
Once I did get the umbrella where I wanted it I couldn't get it to stay standing up no matter how much I tried.
Suffice to say I don't think I will use a
beach umbrella again, I think I will stick to sunscreen and a visor.
