16 Years Old and Fried!

When I was 18 and my now wife was 16, we went on our first family beach trip to Holden Beach NC together with my family.
It was a great trip; however, on the first full day there, my wife got an incredibly bad
sunburn.
She did not have blisters or anything, but she was red like a cooked lobster.
I had never had a bad sunburn before, so I did not know what to do really.
My sister suggested we get some aloe gel at the local sundries shop. We walked down to the shop and bought a big bottle of 100% pure aloe gel.
We then went back to the beach house where I helped my wife apply the gel to her sunburn in any areas she could not reach.
My wife had to wear her bathing suit only for about two days after that, as it was the only thing she could wear that did not bother her sunburn.
She has never been burned like that again. The aloe worked really well. It cooled her skin instantly and also helped to moisturize it.
She still peeled, but my sister said it would have been much worse with out the aloe gel.
